I drank, I blacked out and then would do it again the next day. I started drinking in my early teens and did not stop until my sobriety date. Why? Because I thought I was a normal drinker. Doesn't everyone plan their day around when they are going to blackout?

One night, drunk and almost to the blackout point I called a treatment center and then my family and barely remember it the next day. The seed was planted though and a couple of weeks later I went to treatment for 33 days, did everything they told me and have not had a drink since.

I was sitting in my backyard and noticed a huge beautiful Cypress tree and wonder when it got there. I had lived in the same house for 12 years and the tree was always there, but I wasn't. I am present in my life now and I know with my higher power, my sponsor, my friends and family I will continue to be present in my life.
