01 What it was like

I was an absentee husband/father. I had a short temper and was very unreliable. I sunk us into overdraft and we had to sell our house to get out of debt. I'd wake up in the morning and have a line to get myself going and I would be looking for a drink at 4:00.

02 What happened

I hit bottom and went to the hospital. I could only hear the sound of my 2 year old's voice calling " daddy, daddy". It made me seek help. a counsellor at the hospital pointed me to the rooms.

03 What it is like now

I have a great family life. I don't crave alcohol or drugs. I haven't for a long time. My job is going well. I have another son who is 7 now. Sobriety is cool. I wake up, ready for the day. I am grateful for what I have, every day.
