01 What it was like
Started out in typical fashion, trying booze at the age of 11. Liked what it did for me as far as feeling confident and the coolest guy in the world

02 What happened
At some point, probably around 16 bad things started to happen. School was slipping, really didn't care much about anything except getting high. First DUI at 17, judge commented that ink on license didn't even dry. Went from working on Wall St to being homeless to living in the Salvation Army.
03 What it is like now
Since being sober, decided to fulfill a few lifelong dreams; going to Alaska, going to college where I received my Master's Degree at the age of 47. Currently working in the field of addiction and mental health for past 15 years. Life is good, don't need that chemical to tell me I'm OK. Not God's gift to the world like I wanted you to think I was, but not that piece of crap that I thought I was. Right in the middle where I belong. AAIOU!
