All nine treatment centers in Columbia offer substance use treatment and outpatient care, making local access to evidence-based recovery practical and flexible. Here's what you can expect:
Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT): All nine centers prescribe buprenorphine and offer buprenorphine maintenance (eight centers), providing one of the most effective approaches to opioid use disorder. Eight facilities also offer naltrexone—an alternative MAT option that works by blocking opioid effects. All centers can dispense buprenorphine with naloxone (such as Suboxone®) and provide relapse prevention support.
Behavioral Therapy: Eight of Columbia's centers provide cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) and dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), evidence-based methods for addressing both addiction and co-occurring mental health conditions. These same eight centers offer individual and group counseling, trauma-related counseling, and motivational interviewing to help you build practical coping skills.
Assessment and Ongoing Support: All nine centers conduct comprehensive substance use assessment and screening for mental health disorders at intake. Eight facilities provide case management, which helps coordinate your care across multiple providers and keeps you connected to community resources. Aftercare and continuing care are universal across all centers, ensuring support doesn't end when your primary treatment phase concludes.
Gender-Specific Options: Eight centers serve all patients, and one center specializes in serving women. Brief intervention, substance abuse counseling, and discharge planning are available at all nine locations.
