Milestone Recovery Extended Care

Milestone Recovery offers two levels of care designed to meet men where they are in their recovery: residential treatment and an outpatient program. Residential treatment at Milestone provides an immersive, longer-term environment where men can focus fully on their recovery without the distractions or triggers of daily life. This level of care is particularly well-suited for men who need sustained support and accountability as they work through substance use disorders.

For men who have completed residential treatment or whose circumstances call for a more flexible model, the outpatient program offers structured care while allowing participants to maintain outside responsibilities. Together, these two tracks create a continuum that supports men from early recovery through longer-term stabilization — a recovery model aligned with what works over time, not just in the short term.

Milestone Recovery's stated mission is to provide services that empower individuals experiencing substance use disorders and mental illnesses. That language matters — it frames the center's work around building capacity and self-determination in the men it serves, not simply managing symptoms. The organization operates out of Old Orchard Beach and maintains additional facilities in Portland, extending its reach across southern Maine.

Financial access is a real part of that mission. Milestone accepts Medicaid and self-pay, and offers financial assistance for those who qualify. For men in Maine who might otherwise delay or forgo treatment due to cost, these payment options make entering a residential or outpatient program a realistic step rather than an out-of-reach one.

The clinical team at Milestone Recovery is led by professionals with advanced licensure in addiction and behavioral health. Executive Director Jayme Villanueva holds credentials as a Licensed Alcohol and Drug Counselor (LADC) and Certified Clinical Supervisor (CCS). Counseling Director Alyssa Pelchat brings licensure as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) alongside a CCS credential. Medical oversight is provided by Medical Director Rachel Solotaroff.
