Keystone Substance Abuse Services

Keystone Substance Abuse Services provides medically supervised detox services under the direction of Medical Director Dr. Maureen Burdett, MD, FACS, FASAM, and Staff Physician Dr. James Jewell, MD. The medical team supports safe withdrawal management as the foundation for ongoing recovery treatment.

Residential treatment at Keystone offers intensive rehabilitation programming for individuals requiring 24-hour structured care. This level of care addresses substance use disorders, alcohol use disorders, drug addiction, and co-occurring mental health conditions through a combination of individual therapy, group therapy, and cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) approaches.

The recovery center operates extensive outpatient programming Monday through Thursday from 8 AM to 9 PM, with Friday sessions until 4 PM. This scheduling accommodates individuals maintaining work, family, and educational commitments while participating in structured addiction treatment.

Intensive outpatient (IOP) services provide stepped-down care from residential treatment or serve as primary intervention for those with strong community support systems. Programming includes medication-assisted treatment (MAT) options and gender-specific treatment groups tailored to different recovery needs and preferences.

Keystone serves diverse populations throughout York County, including adolescents through their dedicated Youth Center at 1668 Herlong Court, pregnant women requiring specialized care, and individuals who are deaf or hard of hearing. The facility provides dual diagnosis treatment for co-occurring mental health and substance use disorders.

The recovery community extends beyond active treatment through alumni programs and continuing care services. Keystone's Prevention Center at 1600 Ebenezer Road offers community substance use education and Student Assistance Programs, demonstrating their commitment to long-term community recovery support and prevention initiatives.
