Freedom Center

Freedom Center provides two levels of outpatient addiction treatment designed for different stages of the recovery journey. Their standard outpatient program offers ongoing support for individuals who have completed residential treatment or need consistent therapeutic intervention while living at home. The intensive outpatient program (IOP) delivers more frequent sessions for those requiring additional structure without residential placement.

Both programs feature group therapy as a core component, with sessions scheduled during day and evening hours. This scheduling flexibility allows participants to maintain employment, attend school, or fulfill family obligations while receiving consistent addiction treatment. Individual counseling sessions complement group work, while substance use education classes provide practical knowledge for maintaining long-term sobriety.

The center utilizes Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) as its primary therapeutic framework, helping clients identify and modify thought patterns that contribute to substance use behaviors. Group therapy sessions create peer support networks essential for sustained recovery, while individual counseling addresses personal challenges and trauma histories.

Freedom Center specifically treats co-occurring disorders and trauma/PTSD alongside substance use disorders. This integrated approach recognizes that many individuals in recovery face multiple, interconnected challenges that require simultaneous attention. Comprehensive assessments help identify these complex needs and inform treatment planning throughout the outpatient process.

Located in Princeton, Freedom Center extends its services throughout Mille Lacs County and the broader Central Minnesota region. The facility treats both adults and adolescents, providing age-appropriate programming within their outpatient structure. Men and women receive treatment services, with particular attention to trauma survivors who may need specialized therapeutic approaches.

The center operates Monday through Friday, with full business hours until 5 PM on most weekdays and morning sessions available on Fridays. Multiple payment options including Medicaid, private insurance, state insurance, and self-pay arrangements make treatment accessible to diverse economic situations. This combination of scheduling flexibility and payment options supports the center's role as a community resource for ongoing recovery support.
