Dragonfly Medical and Behavioral Health offers two core levels of care for adults pursuing recovery in northeastern Tennessee: medical detox and an outpatient program. Medical detox at Dragonfly is overseen by a physician-led team that includes multiple MDs, a DO, and a nurse practitioner — providing structured medical oversight during the withdrawal phase that marks the beginning of the recovery process for many people.

The outpatient program is built for the longer arc of recovery. Rather than a time-limited intervention, Dragonfly's outpatient model keeps people connected to clinical support — including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, group services, and peer recovery support — while allowing them to remain engaged with work, family, and community. Telehealth access means that continuity of care doesn't have to stop when life gets complicated.

Many people entering addiction treatment are also managing underlying mental health conditions — and Dragonfly is specifically equipped to address both. The center treats co-occurring disorders and dual diagnosis cases, as well as trauma and PTSD, within its substance use treatment program. This integration matters: untreated trauma or mental illness is one of the most common obstacles to sustained recovery, and treating only the addiction while leaving mental health needs unaddressed is widely recognized as insufficient for long-term success.

The clinical team includes licensed clinical psychologists with doctoral-level credentials, giving Dragonfly the in-house capacity to deliver psychological assessment and therapy alongside its medical services. Cognitive Behavioral Therapy is the confirmed therapeutic approach used at the center, offering clients a structured, skill-building framework that has a strong track record in both addiction and mental health treatment.

One of the more distinctive features of Dragonfly's clinical team is the presence of a Certified Peer Recovery Specialist (CPRS) — Autum Wade — on staff. A CPRS brings lived recovery experience into the care setting, serving as a bridge between the clinical team and the day-to-day realities that clients face in early and ongoing recovery. Peer support has become an increasingly recognized component of effective addiction treatment, and having a credentialed specialist in this role signals a commitment to recovery that extends beyond the clinical hour.

On the financial side, Dragonfly accepts Medicaid, Medicare, private insurance, and state insurance, as well as self-pay via cash, money order, debit card, or credit card (note: a service charge applies to card transactions, and personal checks are not accepted). For uninsured clients, the center publishes flat-rate pricing: $90 for one week, $160 for two weeks, or $225 for four weeks — with fees due in full at the time of service.
